Port Blair, Dec 11: A drunken eve teaser on Tuesday was spotted teasing a girl in a private bus. Seeing the girl in helpless condition a fellow passenger came to help but the eve teaser hurled abuses on him and physically assaulted him.
Seeing this, another lady in bus, also intervened but the accused under influence of liquor reportedly attacked the lady and injured her.
When other passengers of bus also came forward in support of the girl, the accused escaped from the scene. Meanwhile out of fear the girl also got down from the bus.
Later passengers who stood in support of the girl registered a complaint in PS Pahargaon after which the accused, Uday Raj was arrested by police at night from TTI college area yesterday.
