Port Blair, Nov 29: The A&N Marine Fishing Amendment Rules 2019 has been notified on 7th November 2019. As per the A&N Marine Fishing Amendment Rules 2019, all Mechanised, Motorised and Sport Fishing Vessels registered by the Authorised Officers shall have Navigational Lights and Distress Alert Transmitter (DAT) on board in working condition at all time. No Motorised, Mechanised or Sport Fishing vessel shall be granted/ renewed Fishing Licence without possession of Distress Alert Transmitter.
All the registered Motorised, Mechanised and Sport Fishing vessel owners have been advised to install DAT in their respective vessels before renewal of their Fishing Licence for the year 2020-2021.
Further, all the Trader, Fish vendor, Firm, Cooperative Society, Self Help Group, NGO or any Organization engaged in transport of fish or Fish Products outside the Jurisdiction of the Islands and also those engaged in importing live fish/ fish or fish products from mainland shall apply in the prescribed format to register his or her name with the Authorised Officer of the respective area along with registration fee of Rs.500/- and the Authorised Officer shall issue Registration Certificate, which shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of issue and shall be renewed further for three years on payment of Rs.500/-.
All the traders (new and existing), Fish vendor, Firm, Cooperative Society, Self Help Group, NGO or any Organization are advised to register themselves with the Authorised Officer of their respective areas on or before Dec 20, 2019.
