Port Blair, Nov 29: The narrow road from Corbyn’s Cove to Nayagaon, which used to be always free from traffic in recent past, witnesses several traffic jams in a day. As an easy alternative to Bhatubasti to Dairy Farm road, many people, prefer to take the Corbyn’s Cove to Nayagaon road, which make the road very busy these days. Adding to the pain, now many heavy vehicles including heavily loaded trucks and massive buses ply on the road, making the road over crowded.
As the road was never designed keeping such huge traffic, everyday there are several traffic jams, causing huge problems to school and office goers.
Genuine users of the road are now demanding to atleast prohibit Heavy Vehicles like Massive School Buses, Passenger Buses and Cargo Trucks to use the road so that the road remain free for normal traffic. Heavy vehicles can always take the Corbyn’s Cove to Science Centre route, which remains free from traffic all the time. This will be a win win situation for everyone, people believe.
