Port Blair, Nov 27: The District Police of North & Middle Andaman district is conducting awareness programmes about the traffic rules and is also making the public aware about the new motor vehicle (Amendment) Act, 2019. In the last week, the SI (Traffic) P.K. Shivhare conducted the programmes at various places in the Sub-division Diglipur. The SHOs of the Diglipur, Kalighat and Mayabunder also attended the programmes being conducted in the jurisdiction of their Police Station.
Programmes were conducted atDiglipur Police Station, Kalighat Bazaar. Apart from that the police team also visited Govt. Sr. Sec. School Diglipur, Subashgram, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Kishorinagar, Govt. Sr. Sec. School Kalighat andMahatma Gandhi College, Mayabunder to sensitize the young generation about road safety and traffic rules. More than 1000 participants have attended these programmes so far. In the coming days, the police will be conducting similar programmes in Rangat Sub-division.
