Port Blair, Nov 27: After a halt of nearly 10 months the ground clearing works for Middle Strait Bridge seems to have resumed. On last Saturday heavy excavators were brought to Middle Strait area from Baratang after which from Sunday the ground clearing works began from the Middle Strait end of the proposed bridge.
Today some high level officers of NHIDCL visited the site at Middle Strait at around 2.00 PM. Further details are awaited.
Earlier in the beginning of 2019 all trees over the proposed bridge site were cut and some structures at Baratang area were also demolished to clear the area. Sadly while the work for Humphery Strait Bridge is progressing at unbelievably fast speed the work for Middle Strait bridge is still snail paced.
