Port Blair, Nov 18: The members of Non- Government Organization ‘Pahal’, working with the agenda to serve the poor and needy children in the society, celebrated Children’s Day by bestowing their time with the children of Sewa Niketan, Dairyfarm, yesterday evening.
The members of the NGO ‘Pahal’ organized a health camp for children at Sewa Niketan and also organized a cultural programme to mark Children’s day. The Swami of the Ashram inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. The children received a very special treatment during the occasion.
Cultural Programme included folk Dance, Nukkad Natak on drug menace, Bhajans and melodious songs.
Dr K Rajesh, Ayurvedic Doctor, Opthalmologist, Mr Pawan Runthawala, Eye Specialist and Dental Surgeon Dr Shanti Vijay Kumar extended their support in the health camp organized for children at Sewa Niketan. Snacks and Dinner was also served to the children, inmates and guests during the occasion.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Hemant Dhingra, founder member of the NGO said that the ‘Pahal’ is the only NGO in the Islands, whose only agenda is to cater to the poor and needy children and hence, the NGO will continue their work to facilitate the needy children as much as they can.
“We also require the support of the public to do so and requested the public to buttress them for doing so,” Mr Dhingra added.
Mr Sarwesh Kumar, Mr Saurabh Singh was among the other members of the NGO who made the day for the children at Sewa Niketan, Dairyfarm.
