Port Blair, Nov 03: As a part of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2019, a sensitization programme on this year theme- “Integrity- a way of life” was organised by the officials and staff members of Clinical Research Unit- Homoeopathy [CRU(H)] at Seminar Hall, Directorate of Census Operations Office (DCO) Port Blair on 1st November, 2019 in association with DCO.
At the outsted, Dr. Uttam Singh, Incharge, CRU(H) welcomed the Chief guest Sh. Mukund Madhav, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI, Port Blair and guests of honours , Sri. Venkateshwar Rao, Deputy Director, DCO and D. Subhash Chandra, Research Officer, Directorate of Economics & Statistics, A & N Administration, Port Blair.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Uttam Singh, Incharge , CRU (H) highlighted the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week. Sri. Venkateshwar Rao, Deputy Director DCO, Census started the awareness and sensitization session by paying respect to the first Union Home Minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel whose birthday is celebrated as National Unity day on 31st October. He emphasised on sensitizing the general public, especially the college students to understand the importance of vigilance. D. Subhash Chandra, Research Officer, Directorate of Economics & Statistics continued the session by explaining about the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) which was established in the year 1964 for curtailing the corruption. He also explained different facets of vigilance and areas of corruption where vigil is required.
In the final session , Sh. Mukund Madhav, DSP, CBI gave a wonderful and spirited deliberation on the theme- “Integrity- a way of life” by giving real life examples . He urged all the participants to remain vigil and aware in their respective working areas. He elucidated many recent examples of corruption and shared real life practical experiences for understanding the root cause of corruption . He explained the conflict of Interest in the organizations and spoke highly to maintain integrity in working sphere.Later on he also answered the queries of the participants on the topic. At the conclusion, a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Uttam Singh, Incharge, CRU (H). A human chain against corruption was also formed at the end.
