Port Blair, Oct 30: 4 GARH RIF, HQ 108 Mtn Bde, Brichgunj, Port Blair, in coordination with Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) had organized a Voluntary Blood Donation camp at Central MI Room, Brichgunj Military Station today. A total of 148 donors donated blood voluntarily. The camp was organized under the leadership of Dr. M. Joy, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A & N Islands.
The blood Donation was facilitated by Dr. Shahina Mustaquim, Medical Officer Incharge, Blood Bank, G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair. The donors were examined for their eligibility to donate blood and were briefed on various aspect and importance of blood donation. Shri Saurabh Yadav, Lt. Col, AAG for Cdr, HQ 108 Mtn Bde C/o. 99 APO coordinated the camp.
The technical team from Blood Bank, G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair and A & N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units were screened for transmissible diseases. Donors certificate were also distributed to the voluntary donors.
