Baratang, Oct 28: The Up-Adyaksh, North and Middle Andaman, Mr Alager Swamy recently submitted a letter to the Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and in the letter he requested the Lt. Governor to instruct the concerned department to ply regular boats from Port Blair to Baratang through alternative sea routes. He pointed out that the boat service in the said route has been suspended for the last eight months following which the villagers and tourists are facing great difficulties.
In his letter to the Lt Governor, Mr Alager Swamy requested him to reopen the Tiger Quarry at South Creek, Baratang which will be helpful for early completion of various projects of government like NH roads, PRI, ZP, PWD roads and other local requirements for residents etc. besides creating employment opportunities to the local youth.
He further requested to improve the worst condition of national highway road from Baratng to Diglipur.
Mr Alager Swamy also requested the Lt Governor to instruct concerned department for immediate construction of Playground at Baratang for the school students and local youths of the region.
He requested the Lt Governor to instruct departments for construction of approach road to helipad at Baratang. “The helipad is constructed 04 years but no approach road exists till now and in the event of any emergency for evacuation of patient etc. it is very difficult for them,” Mr Alager Swamy said.
