Port Blair, Aug 30: The Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. D. Purandeshwari in reply to a question raised by the Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray in Lok Sabha has informed that the Govt. Primary school at Namunaghar which was opened in the year 1961 was upgraded to secondary level during 1986. The Minister also informed that the land for the school was donated by Mr. Harnam Singh prior to year 1961 and is under physical possession of the Education Department since then. As an individual has claimed a part of the land, the work of developing a proper playground for the school has been temporarily stopped, a communication from MP Bhawan said here.
