Port Blair, Aug 27: Around 375 Naval NCC cadets including girls from various islands ran a communal harmony cross country race from ITF Ground to Minnie bay and back. The race was flagged off by Commodore BC Sethi Naval Component Commander of the A&N Command. The Commodore addressing the gathering told them that A&N Islands are best example of National Integration and Communal Harmony. He wished them Good Luck and to spread the message of love and peace wherever they go. The Commodore told them that he was a NCC cadet and urged them to make the best use of the NCC to improve their skills for being successful in life.
Later Mrs Soena Sethi congratulated the winners and distributed Trophies and prizes. Among girls, Senior Division boys and Junior Division boys Cadet Priya Singh, Cadet Amit Ba and Cadet A Prabhu bagged the First position in each category respectively. Special prize was won by Cadet Arun Kumar from Carnicobar.
Commander John E Mathew, Commanding Officer of NCC Naval Unit thanked the NAVCC for providing the assistance and support. The cross country race was co-ordinated by Second Officer K.Ravi of GMSSS Mayabunder.
The Commanding officer also thanked the A&N Police for the traffic arrangements made through ASI TD Rao and his team. A communication received here said.
