Port Blair, Sept 26: In a public programme attended by the Police personnel, General public and tourists, Mr. Manoj. C, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District inaugurated the Tourist Police Kiosks at Corbyn’s Cove Beach on 26th September 2019.
The Kiosks is a part of the Tourist Police Ecosystem scheme which aims to make the visit of tourists to A&N Islands pleasant and safe.
A welcome speech was given by Ms. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SDPO (SA) underlining the mandate, duties and responsibilities of the staff of tourist police kiosks.
During the inaugural address, Superintendent of Police (SA), Mr. Manoj. C, IPS spoke about the importance of Tourism in A&N Island’s economy and he also emphasized upon the need to have to setup the kiosks and deployment of dedicated police personnel in it for the safety and security of tourists. He also urged people and tourists to make use of the services of Tourist Police & its helpline No. 155307.
