Port Blair, Sept 26: To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the NCC Naval Unit is conducting a “Mega Swachhta Pakhwada” initiated by Government of India, which commenced from 17th Sep to 02nd Oct 2019. The various programmes like Coastal cleanship, Rally, lecture on pollution and Cleanship in adopted village will be observed. The NCC cadets of Naval unit, Port Blair observed 12 hours silence (Moun Vrat) to save trees in JNRM college on 19th Sep 2019. The “Mega Swachhta Pakhwada” is an event to get the attention of the public to make them aware about the importance of trees. A clean environment is essential for a better tomorrow.
