Port Blair, Sept. 9: The Fisheries Sub Station, Little Andaman conducted an awareness programme at Panchayat hall of Little Andaman on Sept.4. The Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, RK Pur, Shri Asmanju Halder was present on the occasion. The Superintendent of Fisheries, South Andaman, Shri Sujanan explained about the availability of subsidy under Blue Revolution, RKVY and UT Plan Scheme for the fishermen to acquire inputs like motorised/ mechanised fishing boats, deep freezers, ice boxes, FRP boats, inboard/ outboard engines, insulated trucks, safety equipment, assistance for deep sea fishing vessel and Group Accident schemes. He also urged the fishermen to come forward and avail the benefits extended by the Department of Fisheries. The Assistant Fisheries Guard, Shri Tapan Baroi proposed the vote of thanks.
