Port Blair, September 08: Candidates, who had appeared for the recruitment examination for the post of Junior Engineer, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical, Andaman Public Works Department are under mare’s nest as the department is delaying to declare the results, many candidates alleged.
Ambiguity started persisting among the candidates over the delay of around 50 days for the results. Candidates fear thinking some kind of manipulation behind this delay.
As per the candidates, after the exams held on 21st July 2019, the answer keys were uploaded on the 08th day i.e 29th July 2019 and they were given a 15 days’ time for submitting claims and objections.
Candidates allege that usually in other recruitment examinations the second set of answer key gets uploaded in the next couple of days after the claims and objections are over but in this case the second set of answer key has not yet being uploaded and more than 45 days has passed after that.
“Already the aforesaid examination was postponed from 31st March 2019 to 21st July 2019 following elections and again this delay in declaring the results is a big disappointment for us,” said a candidate maintaining secrecy.
“We urge the department to announce the results as soon as possible so that the fear among us may exit,” said another candidate in case of anonymity.
Hopefully the department will show some concern and speed up the process to declare the results or else may inform the public through any source briefing the reason behind the delay.
The Andaman Public Works Department had released a press notification for 20 posts of Junior Engineer Civil and 08 posts for Junior Engineer Electrical and Mechanical including OBS and ST on 25th December 2018. Altogether 1643 candidates applied for the examination wherein only 624 candidates had appeared for the examination, it is learnt.
