Port Blair, September 08: On 07th September 2019, a male Elephant that was brought for a puja ceremony at Ayyanar Temple, Shadipur, near Government Press, stopped taking the command of the Mahout, bringing live on the edge for many.
As per reports, the Elephant was doing well till 12:30 pm but suddenly at around 01:00 pm the behavior of the Elephant changed. Smelling rat into the situation the Mahout and the people present in the temple immediately informed the Forest Department about the issue.
Timely intervention of the staffs of the Forest Department kept the situation under control. However, it is learnt that the team of Forest Department struggled till 05:00 pm to bring the Elephant under total control.
According to sources, the Elephant was later shifted to tiny forest area somewhere near Science Center and later the Elephant was kept in Naya- Shaher at Night to cool down the elephant. Today the Elephant was shifted to Tushnhabad area, from where it was brought for the puja ceremony.
