Port Blair, Aug 30: Open Badminton Tournament was organised by Badminton Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands (BAANI) in Multipurpose Hall, Netaji Stadium, Port Blair.
A badminton tournament was organized by the badminton association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands (BAANI) to celebrate the National Sports Day in association with Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. G. Bhaskar, TSG Group while Mr. B. Dinesh from AKT Group, Assistant Director Mr. V. Ranjeet Kumar was among the distinguish Guest. The event is Sponsored by M/s Sports Centre Proprietor Mr. Mohd.Azimuddin .
The programme started at 19:30 Hrs, by lighting of traditional lamp and floral tribute to legendary Hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, was also paid by players and audience present on the occasion.
A pledge on FIT INDIA was also administered on the occasion. Around 170 players enrolled for the tournament, the tournament has been categorized in 6 categories viz under 15 & 19, open, above 35+, 45+, 55+. The finals will be played on 01 Sept 2019.
