Port Blair, Aug 30: Continuing the crackdown on drug peddling, South Andaman Police has seized nearly 1560 grams of illicit ganja and arrested two persons.On 29.08.2019, on receipt of credible information, a raiding team under the guidance of I/c PS Swaraj Dweep, SI P.C. Manickam, comprising SI Grace Field, SI Satvir Singh, HC J.N Pandey, PCs Ashish Singh, Aslam, Jagdish Babu, PC (D) K Vallapa Rao conducted raid near Hotel Sumit, Swaraj Dweep and recovered 1455 grams of illicit ganja from the possession of Sariful Sardar S/o Shri. Niem Sarder (32)yrs R/o Govind Nagar, No.3 Swaraj Dweep.On the same day, the team of Police Station Hutbay headed by SI V.P. Mishra, SHO PS Hutbay consist of HCs S.S Randhawa, Ram Nag, PCs Biplob Das, Anurudhra Das, Budhani Uraon, Aboobaker Siddique and HG Anand Amlon Tirkey conducted raid at R.B Nagar, Ward No.2, Little Andaman and recovered 105 grams of illicit ganja from the possession of Sukanto Halder S/o Late S.K Halder (38)yrs R/o Hutbay. Both the accused persons were arrested and sent to judicial custody.All these operations took place under the close supervision of SDPO Swaraj Dweep, Shri. Prashant Chaudhari under the directions of Shri. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
