Port Blair, Aug 29: The meeting of National Executive Committee of the Akhil Bharatiya Adiwasi Vikas Parishad held on 25th August, 2019 at the Members of Parliament’s Club, North Avenue, New Delhi and discussed several critical issues related to livelihood, education, identity, empowerment of tribal women, atrocities on STs, proper implementation of 5th& 6th Schedule of Constitution in the TSP areas of the country etc. Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Steel Mr. Faggan Singh Kulaste, Mr. Bala Bachchan, Hon’ble Home Minister, Government of Madhya Pradesh, National President of Parishad Mr. Somjibhai Damor and National Vice President of Akhil Bharatiya Adiwasi Vikas Parishad and Retired Director , Govt. of India Mr. ShankerLalBodat addressed the meeting on these issues. A presentation on newly designed Website of Parishad was also arranged by covering its aims, objectives, achievements and future plan etc.
Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad is a national organization that works for the interest of 104 million tribal people of the country. All the prominent tribal leaders across the country, including around 250 MLAs and 47 MPs are the members of the Parishad irrespective of their political affiliations. The Parishad reiterated its commitment towards the holistic development of the tribal population by unionizing and rendering support to the tribal leaders across the country. The Parishad also discussed its plan to organize a grand tribal Carnival in April, 2020 wherein the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble President of India will be invited as Chief Guest of the national event.
While deliberating the state wise progress, Parishad nominated Mr. Rasheed Yusoof as State President of Andaman & Nicobar to strengthen the tribal development activities in the Islands. Mr. RayhaanPasha , President of Nicobar Youth Association also participated the meeting and gave his valuable suggestions to the Parishad to mobilize the young tribal youths of Andaman & Nicobar island and to bring them in the mainstream of Socio-economic development. The Parishad appreciated Mr. Rasheed Yusoof for providing a firm leadership to the tribal communities of the Islands and giving a strong voice to their concerns at several national and international platforms and he was assured full support in protecting and furthering the interests of tribal people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
