Port Blair, August 26: South Andaman Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) team comprising of Shreeni Kumari (Anganwadi Worker), K. Balmati (Auxiliary Nurse and Midwives), Minoti Sarkar (Anganwadi Helper) and Kamlesh Kumari (Lady Supervisor) of Andaman and Nicobar islands has been conferred with the AAAA (AWW, AWH, ASHA, ANM) &LS Convergence Award at the POSHAN Abhiyan Award Ceremony for 2018-19 held in New Delhi, recently.
The team has been able to establish a good rapport with the community and create visibility of POSHAN Abhiyaan. They have work dedicatedly towards ensuring convergence and opening regular opening of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs). community-BasedEvents (CBE) and Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Days (VHSND) have been conducted timely by the team as per the prescribed schedule. TTraininghave has been focused that created a pool of trained master trainers and field functionaries. Efforts have been made by the team to enhance weighing efficiency and attendance at pre-school.
The POSHAN Abhiyan Awards Ceremony was graced by Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Mrs Rita Zubin Irani, Minister of State, Debase Chaudhuri.
