Port Blair, Aug 26 In order to eradicate the menace of illegal manufacture and sale of liquor from the society, the South Andaman District Police have been continuously making all possible efforts. During the relentless efforts by the team of PS Bambooflat recovered 300 bottles of company sealed IMFL.
On receipt of information regarding illegal transportation of IMFL, team of PS Bambooflat headed by SI K. Elangovan, SHO PS Bambooflat alongwith PCs Ashok Roy, Debashish, Suresh and T. Anil under the supervision of Mr. Manoj Kr. Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat conducted surprise raid at Jirkatang graveyard near BSNL tower and recovered 300 bottles of 750ml IMFL company sealed from a car bearing Regn. No. AN01-P-5533 and arrested the driver namely S. Saravana Kumar S/o Mr. P. Subramaniam, 31 yrs R/o Junglighat and co-accused Mohd. Abdul Arif S/o Late. Muzul Rahman, 51 yrs R/o Aberdeen. All the IMFL bottles alongwith the car were seized on the spot and the accused were arrested and a case under relevant section of excise regulation was registered at PS Bambooflat. The entire operation took place under the close supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
The public is requested to share information about illegal brewing and sale of illicit liquor and narcotic drugs with Police so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice.
