Port Blair, Aug 11: It is an open secret that quarry materials are often illegally extracted from Harinagar quarry of Middle Andaman and then materials are taken to a specific crusher unit of Middle Andaman from where processed quarry products are sold in Middle Andaman area.
Recently when Andaman Sheekha unit of Billyground received an input that some people are illegally extracting quarry products, once again from the Harinagar Quarry, Andaman Sheekha Correspondent rushed to the site.
Surprisingly when Andaman Sheekha correspondent reached the spot the owner of a crusher unit of Middle Andaman, Mr. Raja tried to block his road with his car and also with a truck. But anyhow when the correspondent reached inside the quarry he saw some people are extracting quarry materials from the quarry illegally using excavator and two trucks.
Seeing Andaman Sheekha Correspondent with camera soon the drivers of the truck ran away from the spot. Mr. Raja the crusher owner also reportedly tried to stop the correspondent of Andaman Sheekha and later tried to bribe Andaman Sheekha Correspondent, but failed.
When the matter was finally reported to the DC of North and Middle Andaman, the DC reportedly assured Andaman Sheekha to take immediate action in this regard.
