Port Blair, Aug 11: In yet another incident of gruesome murder in Andaman, an IRBn Jawan, namely K S Sanju, 35 years, reportedly murdered a widow, namely, Mahalaxmi, a resident of Nepali Basti of Nayagaon on Saturday morning in the victims residence.
According to details, the accused was seen entering the house of the victim in the morning hours, when the victim and one of her relatives were present inside the house. The accused K S Sanju, a resident of Nayagaon, is reportedly married to another lady.
As per details on argument over relationship and money the IRBn Jawan attacked the victim with a sharp weapon kept inside the kitchen of the victim. The victim died on the spot. Meanwhile the relative of the victim who was inside the house started screaming and ran outside for help.
Later when the accused realized that his crime has been seen by others he tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire. He reportedly removed the regulator of the LPG cylinder and set the cylinder on fire directly. He also set fire on himself but later when the fire started to spread the victim reportedly ran towards the hall for help.
Meanwhile Police team reached crime scene just on time and shifted the IRBn Jawan to hospital. The team also stopped the fire from the hot cylinder, which was about to bust, it is learnt. The accused IRBn Jawan reportedly suffered 40 percent burn injuries and is presently admitted in burns ward. Police team has also collected some bills from the crime scene which the IRBn Jawan had brought with him.
