Port Blair, Aug 09: As a part of Jal Shakti Abhiyan awareness programme, a Jal Shakti team from Ministry visited Japan well at Doctor’s colony in Ward No:12 to take stock of the rejuvenation work at Japanese well which is being undertaken by the PBMC under Jal Shakthi Abhiyan which also has a provision of ground water recharging.
As the abhiyan launched nationwide with an accent on focusing various aspects like water conservation and rain water harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies, reuse of water and recharging of structures, water shed development and intensive afforestation.
In order to bring positive changes in people for water conservation, the Port Blair Municipal Council is taking all-out efforts to sensitize the area population by means of conducting several awareness programme on daily basis.
