Port Blair, Aug 09: In order to uplift the economic status and self employment among the unemployed youths of Little Andaman, the Industries Department organized an awareness- cum- Motivational Programme in association with the line departments viz Agriculture, Fisheries, AH&VS, NGO’S etc. at Ramakrishna Pur Panchayat on August 7, 2019.
The Pradhan Ramakrishna Pur, Shri Asmanja Haldar as the chief guest of the function motivated the youth and villagers to devise a vision for development of the village and work towards it. Officials of line departments viz, Dr. Ninad from AH&VS, Ms. Bindu Raghunath from Agriculture, Shri Shaji Thomas from Fisheries Department briefed about the Govt. Sponsored self employment schemes available for youth with their respective departments while Shri Ravi George, NGO (CPTL), motivated the participants with the various activities viable in Little Andaman with the available resources.
Assistant Director (Tech) of Little Andaman, Ms. Sunitha Kumari, explained the various flagship programmes introduced by the Govt. of India like LANIDS, Startup, Stand Up, PMEGP etc. and motivated the youth and other participants to take up self employment.
