Port Blair, August 8: Since the inception of the Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) at Port Blair, the admission of students is growing semester-after-semester. In the year 2006, it enrolled 1341 students in 30 varieties of academic programmes. It is now touching 50,000 students in thirteen years of academic service in the Islands. The admission is growing consistently year-after-year, with incremental progress in a positive direction. During these thirteen years of service, the Regional Centre has been offering over 100 varieties of academic courses ranging from Certificate course to PG level degree. The admission for July 2019 session is open till 14th August 2019. The Regional Centre admission graph is expected to cross 50,000 students in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
