Port Blair, Aug 08: A four day training program on Pre-Test, Census of India 2021 was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Nodal Officer for Pre-test, Census 2021, Shri Abhishek Dev in the Conference Hall of PBMC here on Aug 6, 2019. The Secretary PBMC, Shri Suneel Anchipaka welcomed the gathering. While speaking, the DC & Nodal Officer in his speech emphasised the role of Enumerators/Supervisors in the collection of accurate data for the Government to make good administrative policies.
The Deputy Director, Directorate of Census Operations, A&N Islands, Shri S Venkateswara Rao, highlighted the importance of training and introduced the Masters Trainers. The Master trainers imparted training to a group of 30 officials (Enumerators and Supervisors) selected from the PBMC and Port Blair Tehsil. Ms. Anu Bhawana, RO and an Observer from O/o Registrar General, India, New Delhi, Shri Santhosh Prakash, Tahsildar (Election) and Shri Casper James, Tahsildar also participated in the program. The Pre-test shall commence on 12th August 2019 and complete on 30th September 2019 at two selected charges viz., Calicut village in the Port Blair Tehsil (Rural Charge) and erstwhile Ward No. 6 (During Census 2011) in the PBMC (Urban Charge). The Pre-test to the Census 2021 will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, House Listing Operations & Housing Census and Updation of National Population Register will be taken up from 12th Aug. 2019 to 3rd Sept. 2019. In the second phase, the population Enumeration will be taken up from 10th Sept. 2019 to 30th Sept. 2019.
