Port Blair, August 5: The Maulana Azad Education Foundation under the aegis of Ministry of Minority Affairs is extending scholarship scheme viz. “Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship” for meritorious girl students belonging to the minority communities. There are a few eligibility criteria for Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship 2019 such as Only girl students belonging to six notified Minority Communities i.e. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis are eligible, The Scholarship is provided Rs. 5000/- each for class IX, X and Rs. 6000/- each for Class XI, XII, Scholarship will be awarded to minorities’ girl students who are studying in Class 9th to 12th and have secured at-least 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate in previous class, The students may refer to the Guidelines of Scheme available on the website of Maulana Azad Education Foundation i.e. www.maef.nic.in before filling up of Online Application. Applicants are advised to download School Verification form and upload scanned copy of the same, duly verified by the Head of the Institution along with other documents as required in the Scheme guidelines, Annual income of the student’s parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh. Students have to submit the Income certificate of parents/guardian that should be issued by the Competent Authority declared by the State Government/UTs Administration. Alternatively, the income certificates from Pradhan/Sarpanch, Municipal Board, Councillors, MLA, MP or from any Gazetted Officer may also be considered, apart from the Income Certificate received from the concerned department, Income Certificate must be in Hindi/English language. In case the Income Certificate is in Regional language then it should be accompanied by notarized Hindi/English Version, Students are advised to submit only “One Application Form”. In case if students submit more than one application form then all the applications submitted by students will be considered as “Duplicate” and will be “Rejected”, Amount of scholarship will be credited directly into the Beneficiary bank account through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) mode, No scholarship shall be given for studies abroad for any course, Last date of submission of Online Application of Scholarship (with uploaded required documents) under the “Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship” Scheme for the current financial year 2019-20 is 30th September 2019, Scholarship will not be given to more than two students from a family of the same class, There are no fees/charges for either online application form or for any other service in this regard, No physical/hard copy is required to be sent/submitted by post or by hand to MAEF.
