Port Blair, Aug 22: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee, today met the Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Prakash alongwith a delegation of Fishermen of Haddo and Aberdeen Bazar and highlighted their problems.
Interacting with the CS, Mr. Sharma said that fishermen who are anyhow earning daily bread braving the adverse weather of these Islands, since last 50 years but suddenly they have been asked by the Administration to fish beyond Ross Island, which is impossible for these fishermen, who operate small non-mechanised fishing boats.
The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing and reportedly assured Mr. Sharma and the fishermen delegation that he will look into the matter sympathetically.
