Port Blair, July 22: In yet another case of growing violence in Andaman, one person reportedly attacked his friend at Phongy Balu Entrance Gate area on Saturday night on minor issue.
According to details, on Saturday night Mr. Nimai Hamron, a labourer by profession was attacked by his friends, Mr. Mohan Barla, just because Mr. Nimai Hamron had quarreled with Mr. Mohan Barla’s brother.
Sources said that Mohan Barla and Prallad Das (another friend), had picked up the Nimai Hamron, from his home at night hours saying that they required some help from him at Guptapara.
As Nimai was knowing both of them, he accompanied them in bike but instead of going to Guptapara they took him to Phongy Balu Entrance Gate area, where Mohan Barla attacked him with some sharp weapon. The victim reportedly sustained head injuries during the attack.
Prallad Das also got injuries in his hands, who later asked the Nimai to run away and save his life. The victim anyhow reached staff quarters of Phongy Balu for help but by that time police team reached the spot and he was taken to nearby Hospital. At Hospital, based on the statement given by Nimai, the accused was later arrested by PS Humpherygunj team. Further details are awaited.
