Port Blair, July 19: Yet another gruesome murder has been reported from Garacharma area last night. According to reports Mr. Subramanium a resident of Rachi Basti Port Blair was killed by his friend, Mr. Pandidurai, who had borrowed a huge some of money from the deceased.
Sources said that the accused Mr. Pandidurai had invited Mr. Subramanium this evening behind the Agency House Service Center of Garacharma for a booze party during which suddenly Mr. Pandidurai brought out a machete and attacked Mr. Subramanium.
Some friends accompanied Mr. Subramanium were also threatened by the accused while the attack for which the friends did not come forward for saving the victim. As per reports the accused assaulted the victim multiple times and then went to PS Pahargaon and surrendered himself.
Grievously injured Mr. Subramanium was first taken to Garacharma Hospital and then rushed to G B Pant Hospital but at G B Pant, he was reportedly declared brought dead. Mr. Subramanium was owner of Borewell water service.
Sources said the accused and victim were good friend and the accused had taken a huge amount of money from the victim and he used to lend the same money to others in high interest.
Sources said that the murder was committed because the accused was not willing to return the borrowed money and the interest was mounting day by day.
The accused was immediately arrested by police and was produced in court this morning from where he was sent to Judicial Custody.
