Shaheed Dweep, July 14: A large number of villagers of Shaheed Dweep have been protested against all bars being operated in the Island and also the ANIIDCO liquor outlet claiming that these liquor outlets are ruining the future generation of the remote Island.
However the protesting people are divided into two separate groups. One group of 12-13 women, is demanding closure of only ANIIDCO outlet while the other group, which consists of nearly 120 people, is demanding closure of all the bars in Shaheed Dweep and also the ANIIDCO liquor outlet.
According to reports, a large number of youths of Shaheed Dweep are heavily addicted to alcohol which is threatening the future of the tiny Island and hence family members, specially ladies are demanding closure of all kind of liquor outlets in the in the island. (Pic: Manas Biswas)
