Port Blair, June 23: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Diglipur organized one day District Youth Convention and International Day of Yoga at Panchayat Hall, Radhanagar on 21.06.2019 in which 91 male and female participants from different Youth Club and Mahilal Mandals from Diglipur zone participated. Shri Bhaskar Mazumder, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Radhanagar was the chief guest and he inaugurated the programme He briefed about the benefits of Yoga in our life and prevention various disease by yoga.
During the programme Various schemes of self employment, AIV AIDS, Benefit of Yoga, Right to Education etc. topics were covered through the speech delivered by Shri Swapan Mallick, Industries Promotion Officer(i/c),Industry Department Smti. Bobby Samaddar, ICTC Counselor,Smti. Siromani Kumari, Yoga Instructor, CHC,Diglipur and Shri Subhendu Halder, PGT, Education Department as resource persons. Smti. Siromani Kumari, Yoga Instructor, CHC, Diglipur demonstrated asanas as Yoga Guru and all the participants and guest practiced the asanas as per the protocols.
Shri Jagjeevan Ram, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Diglipur welcomed the respectable persons and gathering and he also highlighted about the important of convention especially for youth and important of yoga for healthy life. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri Sanjib Halder, NYV, NYK,Diglipur.
Many Youth Club and Mahila Mondals of Diglipur zone have organized the Yoga demonstration programme individually in their respective area.
