Port Blair, July 19: For the people of Baratang, reeling under power crisis and low voltage, here is a good news. The Baratang Island may soon get a 750 KVA DG Set, which will be sufficient to cater the need of entire Baratang area for now.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha today the Zilla Parishad member of Baratang Island Mr. R Alager Swamy today said that today a delegation of Baratang called on the Chief Secretary and when the issue of power crisis was raised, the Chief Secretary reportedly assured the delegation that by November the Baratang area will get a 750 KVA DG set. The Baratang delegation was informed that the necessary approval for procurement of the DG set has already been given by the Chief Secretary. The Zilla Parishad member of Baratang Island Mr. R Alager Swamy and other member of delegation expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Secretary.
