Port Blair, July 11: A group of patients, who are waiting for their surgery at G B Pant recently met the Director of Health Services and complained him about unwanted delay in carrying out their surgery.
Sources said that Laparoscopic Surgery Instrument went out of order sometimes back because which many operations are pending.
Adding to the problem some patients alleged that neither their surgeries are performed nor they are referred to Mainland for treatment.
When contacted the Director of Health Services, Dr. S P Burma told Andaman Sheekha that he is aware about this issue and some patients had come to meet him with this problem.
“Laparoscopy Machine camera is in repair so we have sent it to Chennai for repair. Hopefully tomorrow we will get the camera and we will start operation within two to three days. All these patients who are wanting, are those, who only want Laparoscopic surgery,” the DHS said.
