Port Blair, May 31: The Fisheries Museum of Port Blair city is one of the prime spots of city tour package for all the visiting local tourists but when local tourists enter the Fisheries Museum they feel deeply disappointed, looking at the Air Conditioners of the Fisheries Museum.
According to tour operators there are around 21 Air Conditioners inside the Fisheries Museum but none of the Air Conditioner is working because of which it becomes unbearably hot inside the Museum and some of the tourists come out of the Museum within minutes instead of enjoying the specimens, kept inside the Museum.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Director of Fisheries Department Dr. Utpal Kumar Sar, hesaid that the Fisheries Department is planning a new Fisheries Museum because of which the Air Conditioners of present museum are not being repaired.
The Director added that the new Museum will be massive and will have much more things to watch. For now the department has already requested the APWD to provide three Tower ACs so that the tourists visiting the museum do not find difficult to remain inside the museum.
The Director said that at present the tender documents are ready and expression of interest will be published within 3-4 days for the new Fisheries Museum. Talking to Andaman Sheekha the Director of Fisheries Department said that the department is going ahead with ANIIDCO this time because, according to him, ANIIDCO is more flexible for these kind of projects.
