Port Blair, May 21: The Tribal Development Council (TDC) of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and New Delhi YMCA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Island Capital Port Blair on Tuesday. Under the MoU, New Delhi YMCA will help the well-known NGO, in promoting art, culture and sport among the Islanders, specially the tribal communities.
Mr. Rasheed Yusoof expressed gratitude towards New Delhi YMCA and Mr. Joseph Benjamin, General Secretary and CEO, Alok Michyari, Vice President, Mr. Norris Pritam, Vice President for giving this opportunity to the Tribal Development Council.
“We believe and hope that we will do very good work with YMCA New Delhi. I am sure that we are going to make a history by organising a Tribal Festival in Andaman & Nicobar Island and also I would like to thank Nicobar people and the Tribal Council and the Administration for their support and cooperation to our TDC,” Mr. Rasheed Yusoof said.
Mr. Joseph Benjamin, General secretary and CEO, New Delhi YMCA said that New Delhi YMCA is committed for the growth of overall development of Tribal Community.
“End of this year, hopefully we will have sufficient materials on record to decide how much further we should go. We hope the MOU will be very fruitful partnership it is all because of the restless effort of the New Delhi YMCA of Alok Michyari, Vice president , Mr. Norris Pritam, Vice President and Mr. Rashhed Yusoof who have been a great source. This kind of understanding and handholding is very fruitful for us.
For New Delhi YMCA, Mr Joseph Benjamin, General Secretary and CEO signed the MoU while Mr Rasheed Yousoof inked it in his capacity as Chairman of the Council. Mr. Norris Pritam, Vice President of New Delhi YMCA and Chairman of its Programme, Tribal and Culture affairs committee and Mr Aloke Michyari, Vice President were also present at the MoU signing ceremony.
