Port Blair, Apr 28: The Andaman and Nicobar Talent Encouragement Examination (ANTEX-2019), which was scheduled today, was once again postponed, triggering anger, confusion and chaos in several private schools.
Later after parents of candidates expressed their anger infront of Ummat Public School (UPS) and police department was informed about it. Later the owner of “Brain+ Education”, who organized this Examination, was picked up by police for questioning. Till last report poured in, the owner was not arrested.
Several parents called up Andaman Sheekha and complained that the exam was earlier scheduled on 21.04.2019 but was later postponed to 28.04.2019 but again today the exams of second shift was postponed without any prior notice to students or parents, which resulted in lot of confusion and inconvenience to students. Many parents left their children in school and went back but later they were informed about the postponement of the exam again.
According to reports, the exam was organized for students of nearly 15 different private schools in city.
The Andaman and Nicobar Talent Encouragement Examination (ANTEX-2019) promises students of nearly 400 scholarships for different stages of education, for which the rate for registration fees ranges from Rs. 250 to Rs. 375. The ANTEX-2019 also promises scholarship upto Rs. 1,00,00/-.
As per reports, after today’s incident, the police department is presently trying to understand and substantiate the facts behind the promises made by the firm, which is conducting this examination.
