New Delhi, Aug 10: The Environment Ministry has sought regulation on installation of cell towers. The Environment Ministry has issued an advisory asking the Department of Telecommunications not to permit new mobile towers within a one-km radius of existing ones to prevent the negative impact of electro-magnetic radiation (EMR), on birds and bees. The Ministry asked the DoT that the location and frequencies of cellphone towers and other towers emitting EMR, be made available in the public domain.
