Port Blair, Mar 18: Continuing the operation against illicit liquor, the teams of Pahargaon police have registered 3 excise cases on 17th March and arrested 3 persons with recovery of 735 Kg Handia.
On receipt of credible information, a team of PS Pahargaon led by SHOA. K. Singh and comprising ASI Murgeshan, ASI Radha Krishnan, HC Benjamin Toppo, PCs Ashok, Rajesh and Sunita conducted raids in Brookshabad area and recovered 34 Aluminium degchi and 1 plastic buckets containing total 735 Kg Handiya. In this connection, three person namely Marianus Kerketta, Jawari and Dropadi Devi (all resident of Brookshabad) were arrested and cases were registered against them.
All these operations took place under the close supervision of SDPO (SA) Mr. Nishant Gupta and under the overall supervision of Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

The identity of the informer will be kept secret, said Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District in a press release.
