Port Blair, Mar 08: The residents of Betapur and Billyground areas of Middle Andaman have highly appreciated the efforts of PS Billiground and Betapur Police Outpost for strict implementation of traffic rules in the region.
According to people of the region such strict rules will not only maintain law and order on the road but also will save many lives but surprisingly recently there was a complaint from a political leader of the area to the SP of North and Middle Andaman against police unit of Betapur Outpost. In the complaint the political leader reportedly alleged harassment.
Following the complaint, the SP North and Middle Andaman reportedly asked the DySP Rangat to conduct an inquiry in this regard but after inquiry it was found that the people of Betapur and Billyground areas are in favour of such strict implementation of traffic rules, however those political leaders who are continuously violating traffic rules and now finding it very difficult to survive. This is yet another example that how political power is misused for personal gain.
