Port Blair, March 08: Aberdeen police committed to robustly investigating crime associated with Ganja the biggest evil of our society in its bid to protect the public.
According to reports to tackle the abuse Aberdeen Police developed intelligence and made significant seizure of around 04kgs of Marijuana within a week with registration of 03nos. of FIRs along with arrest of 03 drug peddlers on charges of criminal possession of Marijuana defined U/s 20(b)(ii) of NDPS Act which carries a maximum sentence of rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to 10 years and with fine which may extend to one lakh rupees.
The raids culminated a profound investigation by Special team of PS Aberdeen into a smuggling operations going on within limits of PS Aberdeen. The nabbed accused identified as Mr. Sekh Murtaza @ Tutul R/o South Point 2) Mr. Sekh Sulaiman R/o South Point 3) Ms Dwinkle (name changed) R/o Bird Line. In all three cases the Marijuana was sourced from Odisha and brought here via Kolkata to smuggle in Andaman Islands.
The operations were carried out by SI P. Jeevan, I/c Excise, HC Sunil S Yadav, PC Nanak Singh, PC Jayanto, PC Suresh, PC Mini Tigga, PC Nandita Mistry & PC Aslam Burglary under the guidance of Inspector Sanjay and able supervision of DySP (DANIPS) South-Andaman Nishant Gupta.
This significant work in the welfare of the society is being successfully carried by our brave policemen gives us a hope that a new dawn will soon break and our society and the youth of today who are the soldiers of tomorrow will be aware and make their distance from such malicious activities and will make a difference in the growth and progress of our society towards a better tomorrow.
