Port Blair, Aug 07: Non availability of Bond Papers in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is causing great deal of inconvenience to people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Reports are coming up from Rangat, Port Blair and various other Islands about severe crisis of Bond Papers.
At Rangat situation is so bad the people from remote villages have to come to Rangat Bazaar to get a Bond Paper but even after waiting for entire day most of them go back empty handed. Situation is not different in Port Blair city too. As often bond papers remain unavailable at SDM office and District Court, hundreds of people could be seen making bee line infront of a black Mahindra SUV, parked inside the Assistant Commissioner office campus, for bond paper.
When contacted an official of South Andaman District Admistration, who doesn’t want his name to be quoted said that orders for purchase of Bond Papers have already been given to a Hydrabad based printing agency but delay from their side has caused this present crisis.
“They have communicated us that within this week Bond Papers for Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be printed and a day before that a team will be sent from Port Blair to bring those Bond Papers to Andaman,” he added.
Sources told Andaman Sheekha that as orders of Bond Papers from A & N Islands is always lesser than other states, the Printing agencies prefer to print Bond Papers for other states on priority and knowingly delay the printing works of Island Bond Papers.
“This is the reason why often there is a shortage of Bond Paper in places like Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Goa,” he added.
Many believe that the A & N Administration must take up the matter with the printing agency officially and fix a time frame for printing of Bond Papers during while placing the order. There is also a need to sanction money for Bond Papers in advance so that before next crisis, next batch of Bond Papers reaches Andamans.
