Port Blair, Feb 20: In the Directorate of Health Services, short listing of edible candidates for filling the post of Jr. Radiographer -cum -Receptionist was done during February, 2018 for conducting written test.
Sadly despite lapse of one year no further process for filling the said posts have been carried out by the department even today.
Candidates and other prominent citizens are now smelling rat into this entire episode of delaying this process. Many believe that the delay is willful because eligible candidates are very less in this case.
The delay is perhaps to help some fresh candidates to complete the required course quickly from mainland, who can now become eligible, if this process is anyhow cancelled, alleged some prominent citizens.
As per details, the vacant post of Junior Radiographer-cum-Receptionist were notified by the health department of A&N Administration vide a vacancy notice published in the daily Telegrams on 29.12.2015 inviting applications from the eligible candidates for appointment against the vacant posts.
Consequently, on receipt of applications and its verification, a list of 10 eligible candidates was notified on 23.02.2016. Now even after notifying and publishing the list of eligible candidates no follow up action has so far been taken by the Directorate of Health Services Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray had already taken up this matter with the department vide my reference letter No. 35/MP/ANI/Health/2018/ 842 dated: 18.07.2018 and No. 35/MP/ANI/Health/2018/ 144 dated: 1.01.2019 but inspite of that nothing really happened.
The MP has now once again intervened into this matter and asked the Director of Health Services to make immediate necessary arrangements for conducting written test for short listed candidates to fill up the posts, without clubbing to the other posts to be filled up by initiating fresh process.
“As the pre-requisite formalities for the above said posts already done except written test and in that event, many eligible short listed candidates who are waiting for appearing written test, will be prejudiced badly if recruitment is delayed,” he said in his letter.
