Port Blair, Feb 14: The PRI members of Great Nicobar met the Chief Secretary at Campbell Bay yesterday morning for discussing various burning issues of the Island.
During the meeting, the Zilla Parishad Member, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Garewal focused on the long pending demands of Great Nicobar specifically on the worst condition of Roads at Govind Nagar and Campbell bay, beautification of Campbell Bay bazaar is also a long pending demand which was raised in different platforms and also betterment of transportation system form Great Nicobar to Port Blair.
Issues like implementation of UDAAN scheme in the Island for fast transportation and tourism, which may inturn create more jobs for youths.
The Pradhan GP Campbell Bay Mr. K Raja highlighted the problems being faced by general public in PHC Campbell Bay due to non availability of sufficient staffs, non availability of Ambulance and demanded posting Executive Engineer at APWD Campbell Bay.
He also demanded additional Gynecologist for the PHC and to provide a J.E Civil Engineer for Gram Panchayat Campbell Bay.
The Pradhan GP Govind Nagar Mrs. Rosillya demanded for a Secretary to her Panchayat and the Up- Pramukh Mr. G.Venkat Rao stressed on providing a Tehsildar for Campbell Bay as since past 2 months there is no Tehsildar in Great Nicobar Island.
Moreover the Pradhan GP Campbell has also submitted a written letter containing major demands of Campbell Bay and while talking to Andaman Sheekha Zilla Parishad member Mr. Gagandeep Singh Garewal said that they are expecting an optimistic approach from the side of Administration.
