Port Blair, Feb 04: Today in a simple function held at Brookshabad Smt. Anusia Devi, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council inaugurated residential quarters constructed at Brookshabad for safai karamcharies in the presence of Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary, PBMC and Mr. K.Arubadi, Ward Councillor. Mr. S.Karunakaran, JVC, Councillors, Officers and workers of the Council were also present on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion the civic chief expressed her gratitude towards the adored seva being rendered by the Sanitary Mazdoors to keep the city neat and clean. She further applauded the efforts being taken by the Sanitary Mazdoors to keep the city spic and span. Hence, it is our prime tasks to provide these facilities to our sanitary employees, she said. The Secretary, PBMC also appraised the efforts being rendered by the Sanitary Mazdoors as they are the main pillars the civic body. On this occasion the newly constructed twelve numbers of quarters has also been allotted to the Safai Karamcharies. A draw of lot has been conducted in front of the allottee. Soon after the draw, the allotment orders along with keys were also handed over to respective allottees in front of the gathering, as said in a press release by Anusia Devi, Chairperson, PBMC.
