Baratang, Feb 03: The Secretary of Tourism Department Mr. Deepak Vermani today said that Baratang has huge tourism potential and in Tourism Sector the Baratang Island has great future tourism prospect. Addressing to a gathering during inauguration of Baratang Island’s first ever Beach Festival this evening at Baludera Beach, the Secretary of Tourism Department said that since morning he visited some prominent tourism sites of Baratang Island and he is very impressed with the natural beauties of the Island. The secretary said that there are some hurdles for which he will have discussion with the Stakeholders and various Departments. “With joint effort we can do this” he said. The Zilla Parishad member of Baratang Mr Alagar Swami expressed his gratitude towards Forest Department, APWD and Electricity Department for their joint effort to make this beach festival possible. He said that Baludera Beach if promoted properly can encourage tourist to stay in Baratang overnight, which will in turn promote tourism in Andaman.
