Port Blair, Aug 03: The first ever Inter Island School level quiz competition is being organized jointly by Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair and Department of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The purpose of conducting the quiz is to create knowledge and awareness about our islands.
The topics include forest and environment, Island geography, history, sports and culture and tourism. The quiz meant for students in class VIII to X, will be on topics related to Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The competition will be organized in three phases i.e. school level, zonal level and state level.
The students selected at the school level will compete at the zonal level. Teams will be selected for the state level recording by Doordarshan ensuring representation from all zones.
36 teams, thus selected at the regional level will compete at the state level which will be recorded by Doordarshan with multi-camera OB System at a suitable location.
The programme will be telecast as a 17 episode series in DDK, Port Blair. The school level competitions are going on, a communication received here said.
