Port Blair, August 01: State Health Education Bureau of Directorate of Health Services has organized 03 days Health & Nutrition Awareness Camp for Andaman Labour Force, Haddo Wharf to create health awareness among them on 18th 24th & 31st July, 2012. All together 250 employees participated during the programme. Talks on Personnel hygiene & environment sanitation, Prevention & control of diabetic. Tuberculosis, Skin disease, Sexually Transmitted Diseases A AIDS, ill effects of Alcoholism & Smoking delivered by the health team headed by Dr. Almas Shamim, Lady Medical Officer, District TB Control Society, Smti Vasantha Devi, Mr. EP Zainuddin, and Mr. P Yusuf, Health Educators from SHEB, Mr. SLV Moorthy, Counselors AIDS Control Society with support of Audio-visual aids.
Beside health talks, YOGA demonstration presented by Mr. N Sera Arsan, & Mr. A jit Kumar Das, Yoga Instructor, AYUSH hospital Port Blair to stay fit. And also Screened various health related documentary Films.
On the concluding session on 31.07.2012 of the awareness programme, Mr. N Khalid, Controller, ALF appreciated the efforts of Directorate of Health Services for conducting such good health related programmes and requested to conduct. Similar programme in future also. Mr. PC Mondal SDO was also present during the programme Earlier Mr. Sarfraz Ali SDO, has welcomed the gathering and health team workers to the events.
The program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Subramanian, SDO, Port Management Board, Port Blair and in his brief talk has assured on behalf of the employees of Andaman Labour Force, department that from today onwards no employee will smoke and consume liquor during their duty hours/place.
