Port Blair, Jan 04: On a credible information received at PS Hut Bay on 02/01/2018 from reliable sources regarding selling of Turtle Meat at V.KPur, Ward No.6, SI.M Saravanan, SHO PS Hut Bay along with ASIS.NRathore, Cts.Naresh Ch. Sarkar and K.ASiddique, PS Hut Bay immediately rushed to the spot and apprehended two persons namely NaniGopalBiswas(42 yrs ) and DurboMondal (40)yrs R/o V.KPur, Ward No.7, Little Andaman found having 6.2 Kg of Turtle Meat and 470 grams Turtle Eggs. The banned items were seized U/s 9/39/50(1)(c) of the Wild Life Protection Act 1972 and the accused persons along with seized items were handed over to Forest department, R.KPur, Little Andaman for further taking legal action.
The public is requested to share information about illegal sailing of illicit liquor and narcotic drugs with Police in full confidence so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice and may pass such information to 100 or nearest Police Station. The identity of the informant will be kept secret, as said in a press release Shri Vijay Singh, IPS, Dy. Inspector General of Police, South Andaman District.
